Morning Barn Report

This morning was cloudy, the snow had lost its stickiness and the tempatures were colder.  Almost two gallons of milk.  Three chicken eggs, five duck eggs (five or six chicken eggs yesterday afternoon).  After the kids were off to school, I put Henry, Bianci and the does outside for some fresh air.  Since I am planning to be out on errands for a few hours, I kept the babies inside.  They were crying out plaintively as I left.

Walking back from the barn, I was surprised to see hundreds of deer tracks in the snow leading up to the backdoor of the house.  It looked like they had had a party last night.  When I got up to the door, I realized why…they had raided the bird feeders which I fill with black sunflower seeds.  No wonder Sam was so nuts during the night!
