When I went to let the poultry out this morning at the tail end of the dog walk, I found Dan had unwittingly locked a possum in the hen house for the night and it was clinging to the wire mesh of the door snarling to get out.  We had disposed of one about a month ago and Daniel and Delilah had flushed one out of the hen house last week.  Egg production has been low so the cheeky fellows have been raiding eggs all day (can’t get into the locked up house at night).  I surmise the possums are living right under the hen house, snacking as well on the scraps put out for the chickens and drinking from the heated water dish.  We disposed of this one too.  Hopefully it will resolve the problem.  No hens or ducks seemed harmed but there were no eggs whatsoever.
