Where to Find Us this Weekend: February 1 and 2, 2014

Last week was a whirlwind with almost 60 baby goats being born and 32 does coming into milk.   Cheese making is slowly starting up again and our raw milk customers have been coming by the farm, joyful to have fresh goat milk again.  Despite the brutal cold, all the animals are healthy and happy.

This weekend you will find Edgwick Farm cheeses at two winter farmer’s markets.

to market 9-9

Gabe will be at the Cornwall Winter Farmer’s Market on Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm at St. John’s Church, 66 Clinton St., Cornwall, NY 12518.

Daniel will be at the Beacon Farmer’s Market on Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm in the Scenic Hudson River Center in Long Dock Park, Beacon, NY 12508.

Hanging Canterbury

At both of these markets, because the goats have started their new lactation and we are making cheese again, we are bringing fresh Canterbury soft goat cheese, Marinated Canterbury and Rosemary Fig Canterbury.  We will also have Sackett Ridge hard goat cheese, Moodna goat feta and Funny Child, our ale-washed hard goat tomme.

If you are thinking of booking a winter farm tour for between now and April 30th, make one sooner rather than later as they are filling up fast.  E-mail us your proposed date and time and number in your party to edgwickfarm@gmail.com.  We have 12 more does that will kid in the next three weeks (and five that will kid in April) as well as 8 doelings born last we that we have named and are keeping.  There will be plenty of baby goats to snuggles on all of the tours.

Raw milk is available for sale at the farm daily between 7 am and 9 am and 5 pm and 7pm, 7 days a week.  It is good to call or e-mail ahead to reserve your milk order since we tend to use most of the milk for cheese making.

As always, thank you for supporting our farm!
